PM announces Relief for Uttarakhand Flood Victims

New Delhi, Sept. 20 (ANI): Prime Minister, Dr. Manmohan Singh, on Monday, expressed grief over the loss of lives in the recent floods in Uttarakhand.
Dr Singh has sanctioned an ex-gratia amount of Rs. one lakh to the next of kin of each of the deceased from the Prime Minister’s National Relief Fund and Rs. fifty thousand to those seriously injured in the floods.
Over 60 people were killed as incessant rains wreaked havoc in Uttarakhand on Saturday night triggering landslides and floods which rendered hundreds homeless.(ANI)
