Amritsar, Apr 12 (ANI): Welcoming the resumption of talks between India and Pakistan, the peaceniks here urged both the nations to work in the same spirit to help in bringing stability in South Asia.
Setting aside all differences, New Delhi and Islamabad had earlier this month agreed to resume dialogue from composite to comprehensive talks.Virsa Vihar, a platform of the artists organized a function here, where artists from both Pakistan and India performed Sufi music. Sufi music is considered a tool of cross-cultural communication between the two Asian neighbours.Hailing the resumption of talks between the two nations, world-renowned Pakistani Sufi music artist Javed Bashir said that now both must pledge to hold talks from heart to heart, adding that it won’t give anyone a chance of breakup.Bashir, who received applauds from the audience for his magical performance, said that this was his sixth visit to Indian Punjab, and added that he always felt the same warm welcome.
Meanwhile, another peacenik and artist Kawel Dhaliwal said: “We are encouraged by re-launching of a dialogue between India and Pakistan aiming to establish peace and providing the basic amenities to the common people of both countries by addressing the common problems.”India and Pakistan had agreed to bring the people of both countries closer than ever by “people to people contact ” program, but unfortunately it was limited to the privilege class, the credit for which goes to strict visa rule of the two nations.Peaceniks feel that the need of the hour is that now both the governments should bring up the visa reforms so that the common man of India and Pakistan could share his feelings, and the governments effectively address issues to eradicate poverty and deal effectively with other socio-economic issues for the betterment of the people.
