Parliament to discuss Mumbai terror strikes issueDecember 11th, 2008 - 12:13 pm ICT by ANI
New Delhi, Dec 11 (ANI): Parliament will hold a discussion on the Mumbai terror attacks in both Houses today.
The discussion will be in general terms after Home Minister P. Chidambaram issues a statement.
Last evening, Congress President Sonia Gandhi discussed the issue with senior party leaders, including Pranab Mukherjee, A K Antony and Ahmed Patel.
Pranab also talked with Leader of Opposition L K Advani who said his party would also raise the issue of Assam violence during the discussion.
Earlier, Parliamentary Affairs Minister Vayalar Ravi had said that the government is in favour of structured debate on the issue of terrorism.
On Wednesday, the second part of the winter session of Parliament was adjourned as a mark of respect to former Prime Minister V.P. Singh, who died on November 27.
The session perhaps would be the last one before the general elections, which are slated for April-May next year.
A highlight of the ten-day session could be the formalisation of the Federal Investigating Agency (FIA). (ANI)
