Pakistani militants ready to negotiate with Gilani GovernmentMarch 30th, 2008 - 7:20 pm ICT by admin
Peshawar, Mar 30 (ANI): Pledging to fight against the US forces in Afghanistan, the Pakistani Taliban on Sunday welcomed Prime Minister Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani’s readiness to negotiate with them to bring an end to a spreading conflict in the country.
Maulvi Omar, a spokesman for the Tehrik-e-Taliban, told a foreign news agency that they were ready for talks and would extend all kinds of cooperation to the new Pakistani Government for bringing peace in the restive tribal areas.
Omar, however, said that the radical group would continue its fight against the American and other foreign forces in Afghanistan.
He further said that the talks could be possible only if President Pervez Musharraf’s policies were ditched, the Dawn reported. (ANI)
