Pakistan to continue talks with militants: NWFP Governor

June 14th, 2008 - 12:20 pm ICT by ANI -

Peshawar, June 14 (ANI): North West Frontier Province (NWFP) Governor Owais Ahmad Ghani has said that the government will continue its talks with the Federally Administered Tribal Areas (FATA) militants.
“The NWFP Government’s peace agreement with militants in Swat is yielding positive results and that is why the federal government is going to make a peace deal with FATA militants,” The Daily Times quoted Ghani as saying.
Ghani further said that peace deals required some time in order to have positive results, adding that he said, “Peace in FATA could not be restored within days.”
Commenting on the air strike on a Pakistani check post, he said that the government has already conveyed its strong reaction to the US. (ANI)
