Pakistan should honour decision on infiltration: Abdullah
March 3rd, 2010 - 2:24 pm ICT by ANIJammu, Mar 3 (ANI): Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah has asked Pakistan to honour its promise on not pushing infiltrators into India.
Terming infiltration a serious threat, Abdullah said it would lead to a deterioration in relationship between India and Pakistan.
“I am hoping that the verbal bilateral talks between India and Pakistan, which has recently started again should have an impact on infiltration also. And we would only demand that Pakistan even if it doesn’t listen to India, at least it pays attention to its own promises,” Abdullah said.
Abdullah had recently proposed militants surrender policy for militants in Pakistan Kashmir.
Calling for a resumption of dialogue between India and Pakistan, Abdullah said both countries are nowhere near a solution on the Kashmir dispute.
The first official talks between India and Pakistan since the 26/11 Mumbai terror attacks ended on Thursday (February 25) with only an agreement to ‘keep in touch’, signalling that relations between the two countries continue to remain frosty. (ANI)
