Pakistan open cross border firing in Poonch
October 24th, 2009 - 6:53 pm ICT by ANIPoonch (Jammu and Kashmir) Oct 24 (ANI): Pakistani troops opened fire in Poonch sector across the Line of Control (LoC) on Saturday injuring an Indian soldier.
According to Defence Ministry sources, Pakistani troops, using LMGs and MMGs, fired on Kripan post in Mendhar sector from 9.30 a. m to 10.30 a.m.
Pakistani troops fired approximately 500 rounds.
Indian troops also retaliated, after which the firing stopped.
A jawan Om Bahadur was hospitalized following bullet injuries sustained by him.
Earlier in September, Pakistani troops had fired nearly 135 rounds on Indian positions along LoC. (ANI)
