Pakistan offers support to India in probing Mumbai terror attacks

Islamabad, Nov 27 (ANI): Pakistan Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi on Thursday extended support and cooperation to India in launching a probe into the acts of terrorism in Mumbai.

He was speaking at the International Conference on Cooperative Development, Peace and security in South Asia here today. While condemning the terror attack in Mumbai he said his heart goes out to families who have lost their near and dear ones in this tragic incident.

I offer support and cooperation of the people and government of Pakistan to India in this difficult time. Pakistan and India have to collectively fight against extremism and terrorism in all its forms and manifestations, The News quoted Quereshi, as saying.

The Minister said terrorism is not a local or regional phenomenon, it is a global issue and all civilized societies will have to join hands and pool in their resources to deal with this curse. Pakistan is dealing with this menace on daily basis.

He said after September 11, the world had changed and it is facing challenges. He also suggested that a hotline should be established between the chiefs of intelligence agencies of both the countries and national security advisers to exchange information.

Qureshi also conveyed sympathies on President Asif Ali Zardar and Prime Minister Yousaf Raza Gilani behalf.

He said both the countries have already established a mechanism to deal with terrorism and this system will be further strengthened. (ANI)
