New Delhi, Jan.13 (ANI): The British government on Tuesday said that Pakistan holds the fundamental responsibility to handle the roots of terrorist outfit Lashkar-e-Toiba, which is behind Mumbai attacks.
British Foreign Secretary David Miliband on Tuesday asked the Pakistani government to act against the Lashkar-e-Toiba which is behind Mumbai terror attacks.
Addressing a Joint press conference in the national capital with the External Affairs Minister Pranab Mukherjee, the visiting Foreign Secretary said that Britain wants Islamabad to comply with its obligations to deal with terror. Meanwhile, the External Affairs Minister said that the international community should put pressure Pakistan to act against all those responsible for the Mumbai terror strikes.
Miliband arrived in New Delhi on a three-day visit as a mark of solidarity with India against terrorism after attack on Mumbai. Miliband is to address meetings in Hotel Taj Mahal and Hotel Trident where terrorists struck on November 26 and killed 180 people including foreign nationals and injured about 300 persons in the three-day siege.
Miliband has to meet Home Minister P. Chidambaram and is expected call on Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh. Besides, he will also interact with a group of young Parliamentarians on climate change and security issues.
In December, 2008, the British Prime Minister Gordon Brown had also asked Pakistan to act against its perpetrators in a joint press conference with Pakistan President Asif Ali Zardari. (ANI)
