Pakistan claims it has photographic evidence on covert Indian activities
February 25th, 2010 - 11:02 pm ICT by ANINew Delhi, Feb 25(ANI): Pakistan on Thursday accused India of destabilizing Pakistan by funding and covertly supplying weapons to terrorists.Foreign Secretary SalmanBashir claimedthat Pakistan has intelligenceand photographic evidence of India’s involvement in activities, which are prejudicial to Pakistan’s security.
“We have ample evidence, including photographic evidence, of these activities,”Bashir told reporters at the Pakistan High Commission.Pakistan has been blaming India for creating unrest in restive Balochistan through its consulates in Afghanistan, but India has rubbished the allegations.Pakistan raised the issue of Balochistan in the talks today, but India trashed the claims and termed the allegations as baseless.Indian Foreign Secretary Nirupama Rao said: “Pakistan raised certain other issues and we responded appropriately, reiterating our national position on these issues.”
Pakistan has repeatedly maintained that India has been fomenting unrest in Balochistan. India has rejected this charge and asked Islamabad to supply it with proof of its involvement.
Rao made it clear that New Delhi has not received any dossier from Islamabad on India’s perceived role in Balochistan.
Rao also told Pakistan that the Mumbai attack was a symptom of a larger problem - that of the continued existence and unhindered activities of organisations, such as Lashkar-e-Toiba/ Jamaat ud Dawa, Hizb ul Mujahideen etc.
Rao told media persons here after her talks with Bashir here that: “This was an ample evidence during the rallies held by these organisations in major cities of Pakistan and PoK on February 5, which openly incited terrorist violence against India.” (ANI)
