Pakistan-based separatists provoking people in Kashmir: Govt.

New Delhi, July 28 (ANI): The Government on Wednesday said that it is aware of Pakistan-based anti-India elements provoking people of Kashmir on various pretexts to arouse the public sentiments.

Minister of State for Home Affairs Ajay Maken, in a written reply in Lok Sabha, on Wednesday stated: “The Government is aware of anti-India elements based in Pakistan provoking the people of Kashmir with the support of certain sections of secessionist groups based in Kashmir on various pretexts to arouse the public sentiments.”

“The statements of APHC(A) and APHC (G) in the media and LeT across the border in this regard are documented,” he added.

The minister informed that the average annual quantum of arms/ammunition and money coming to Kashmir cannot be quantified. However, during the year 2009, Rs. 76,84,600/- and cheques worth of Rs.0.50 lacs has been seized, which was being carried through hawala channels and cases have been registered. During the year 2009, 668 AK-47/56 Rifles, Pika Guns, Sniper Rifles etc, 1142 Magazines, 59333 ammunitions including RPG Ammunition etc., explosive material including RDX, explosive material, India currency of Rs.5615071, Pak currency, Fake currency, Remote control panels etc. were recovered from the militants.
