Islamabad , June 17 (ANI): Pakistan will continue to extend moral, diplomatic and political support for the Kashmiri freedom struggle, and a sustainable peace in South Asia could not be achieved without the settlement of the Kashmir dispute, Pakistan Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani reportedly said while talking to JKLF Chairman Yasin Malik in Islamabad last evening.

Gilani said that his country was in favour of a just and peaceful resolution of the problem in accordance with the wishes of the Kashmiri people.

India would also reciprocate positively in this regard, he said and added that the issue of Kashmir had always remained the cornerstone of the foreign policy of PPP governments in the past, reported the Daily Times.

He said that Pakistan supported the inclusion of all stakeholders in the dialogue process and that only a true and genuine representation of the Kashmiri people in the dialogue would be acceptable to the people of Pakistan .

Gilani said he had discussed the Kashmir issue with Bush last month, and had told him that time was ripe to resolve the dispute.

According to the paper, on the occasion, Yasin Malik praised Pakistan s support for the Kashmiri people, saying that they also supported the peace process to settle the issue. The day is not far when the Kashmiri people will be able to live in peace, honour and dignity, he said. (ANI)
