Islamabad , Oct 25 (ANI): Pakistan was fully committed to the Iran-Pakistan-India (IPI) gas pipeline project, which was expected to meet substantial portion of our energy needs, said the countrys Law Minister Farooq Naek.

He said this while speaking in the Senate here last evening.

Replying to a question raised by an MP, the minister said he hoped that the project would be finalised soon. Two obstacles had impeded its progress, including Irans decision to renegotiate gas sales and the Indian indecision to participate in the project, the minister said and added that implementation of the project would take five years.

He told the House that Iran and Pakistan had decided to establish a joint finance company on public-private partnership basis to raise funds for the project.

He said the present government realised that in the past Balochistan peoples rights were usurped and it would compensate them. (ANI)
