Out of control driver finds parking slot on top of another car!June 4th, 2008 - 4:34 pm ICT by ANI
London, June 4 (ANI): A crowd in a busy supermarket car park was left stunned when a driver lost control of his vehicle and ended up parked on top of another car.
The driver caused panic when his automatic Honda Civic suddenly shot backwards and raced across a pedestrian walkway, smashing into a bench.
The impact of the crash threw the vehicle up into the air and on top of another car parked in a disabled bay.
One person, said to be the driver of the vehicle, was later taken to hospital suffering from minor injuries.
“When I got there the police were already there”, the Telegraph quoted student Nick Small, 19, who arrived at the Tesco store, in Salisbury, Wilts, minutes after the smash, as saying.
“There was a crowd of people around the two cars and I think everyone was still in shock about what had happened.
“But it didn’t take long before everyone saw the funny side and started to take pictures on their camera phones.
“It was an automatic car and people were saying that the driver had just shot backwards and the bench worked as a ramp to make his vehicle mount the other car.
“I couldn’t believe what I was looking at. It’s certainly not the sort of thing you see every day at the supermarket.
“I could see from the pedals that it was definitely an automatic car,” he added.
Claire Usher, spokeswoman for Wiltshire police, said: “At around 12pm yesterday, two vehicles, one of which was parked in a disabled bay, collided in the Tesco car park.
“As a result of the collision, one of the vehicles ended up on top of the other one.
“One person was taken to Salisbury General Hospital with minor injuries,” she added. (ANI)
