Opportunities for NRIs to invest in pharma sector in India

New Delhi, Jan 9(ANI): Union Health and Family Welfare Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad and Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi, on Saturday invited expatriates to invest in the country.
Addressing the Non-Resident Indian (NRI) community on the occasion of Pravasi Bharatiya Diwas here Azad said there was huge potential in health sector as many drugs are likely to go off patent list soon.
“I would like to invite those Indians who would like to come to India to join the areas like drug design, drug development and drug delivery system etc to enrich India’s intellectual wealth with your vivid and long experience and special skills,” he said.
Addressing the gathering, Modi enumerated the achievements of the Gujarat and called upon the expatriates to invest, especially in the education sector.
“Gujarat is working towards proper utilisation of human resources and value addition. We are working on skill development, and for that we need institutions through public-private partnership model,” Modi said.
The Pravasi Bharatiya Diwas a three-day event, is witnessing the participation of around 1,500 delegates from over 150 countries, including top businessmen, economists, entrepreneurs and scientists. (ANI)
