One killed, dozens injured in Karachi serial blasts

Karachi , July 7 (ANI): At least one person was killed and dozens others injured in five serial blasts that rocked different areas of Karachi city on Monday.

According to The News reports, the five blasts occurred at Banaras area, Banaras chowk, North Nazimabad area of Shahra-e-Noor Jehan near Sohail mosque, Hyderi area, Qasba colony area.

Two explosions took place in Banaras area. One of the blasts took place in a pile of garbage while the other one at a footpath near Banaras chowk, injuring 16 people.

The third blast took place in a mini truck in North Nazimabad area of Shahra-e-Noor Jehan near Sohail mosque.

Fourth blast occurred in Hyderi area near a school.

The fifth blast took place in a motor cycle in Qasba colony area, killing one person.

Police and Rangers have been put on high alert in the city following the series of blasts.

Emergency has been declared in all the hospitals of Karachi .

Meanwhile, the injured have been rushed to different hospital of Karachi chaos prevailed at the blasts sites.

Security personnel have cordoned off the area and diverted traffic.

Enraged people took to streets and started pelting stones at moving vehicles.
