One Hizbul militant killed in Doda District
October 10th, 2009 - 3:00 pm ICT by ANISrinagar, Oct 10 (ANI): A self-styled section commander of Hizbul Mujahideen (HM) outfit was shot dead by the Army in Doda district of Jammu and Kashmir on Saturday.
Army on Saturday shot dead a self-styled sectional commander of Hizbul Mujahideen (HM) outfit in Doda district of Jammu and Kashmir.
Earlier, the killed militant identified as Liaqat Ali Gujjar alias Junaid had taken five members of a family hostage in a bid to escape from the security forces.
On late Friday night when security forces followed Junaid he barged into the house of Noor Mohammed Bhat in Ziddan area of the district, and took five members of his family hostage.
Subsequently the security forces cordoned-off the area and killed the militant and rescued the family members who were held hostage.
Security forces recovered two AK series rifles, three magazines, two grenades and an IED from the slain militant. (ANI)
