Kathua Feb.11 (ANI): Jammu and Kashmir chief minister Omar Abdullah on Thursday welcomed Center’s willingness to facilitate return of all Kashmiri youths who had gone to Pakistan-occupied-Kashmir and were interested to return by denouncing militancy.
“I welcome Mr. P. Chidambram’s statement and I am thankful to him for this statement, because we also want that peace and tranquility be restored this State and everyone, who aspire for the development and prosperity of the state should play a role for this,” said Omar Abdullah.
“Those Indians who had crossed over to PoK and now wish to return to India are certainly welcome as PoK is actually an Indian territory and we should facilitate their return,” Chidambaram stated earlier in the day.
Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah had recently given a proposal at the conference of Chief Ministers on Internal
Security on Sunday that a new surrender and rehabilitation policy should be formulated for such youths who want to return and
a general amnesty be given to them. (ANI)
