NTPC signs MoU with Commonwealth games organisers
December 10th, 2009 - 9:04 pm ICT by ANI ( Leave a comment )New Delhi, Dec 10 (ANI): The National Thermal Power Corporation (NTPC) signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the 2010 Commonwealth Games Organisers to be its official partner here on Thursday.
The agreement was signed between Suresh Kalmadi, chairman of the organising committee of the Commonwealth Games 2010 and R S Sharma, chairman and managing director of NTPC.
“Today an agreement has been signed between Commonwealth Games and NTPC to be its partner. NTPC shall be a partner of the Games and the objective of the NTPC is to really put the country’s image to be a very grand. This is how we are getting associated and in turn NTPC will get mileage and NTPC brand will get established,” Sharma said.
NTPC is also adding about 1,500 MW for the games.
The 2010 Commonwealth Games in Delhi will be India’s first major international sports event after the 1982 Asian Games. (ANI)
