New Delhi, Nov 4 (ANI): No resolution was passed during Home Minister P. Chidambaram’s visit to the Jamiat Ulema-e-Hind (JUH) conference at Deoband on Tuesday.
According to Home Ministry statement, no resolution was passed during that period. When he spoke, he was not aware of any resolution relating to Vande Mataram or women’s reservation or cinema and television.
Jamait-e-Ulema Hind on Tuesday had justified the fatwa against singing national song ‘Vande Matram’.
The resolution, which was passed at the Deoband national convention meet, says that Muslims should not sing ‘Vande Matram’ as some verses of the patriotic song are against the tenets of Islam. (ANI)
