New Delhi, Sept.16 (ANI): Delhi Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit today rejected suggestions that there was a shortage of power in the national capital, and added that there is no scarcity in the availability of power.

She said that her government has tied up to ensure ample power during the Commonwealth Games, and added that the city is today has surplus power.

She also revealed that power generation from 1500 MW gas-based Bawana Project will commence soon.

Apart from this, availability from Jhajjar is on the cards and the city has been getting supply from NTPC Dadri.

Dikshit was speaking at a function organized at Delhi Secretariat to release Citizens’ Charter for BSES consumers.

Separate charters for BRPL and BYPL were released in presence of the Principal Secretary to the Chief Minister, P.K. Tripathi, CEO (BRPL) Gopal Saxena and CEO (BYPL) Ramesh Narayan.

Dikshit said the release of Citizens’ Charter is a step forward in empowerment of consumers, as they will become aware of their rights.

She said the charter would go a long way in enhancing consumer satisfaction. It is an instrument to have useful feedback from the consumers on an all important public utility, she added.

Dikshit said the reduction in AT and C losses during the last two to three years is bound to benefit consumers as far as tariff is concerned.

She exhorted the DISCOMs to make available Citizens’ Charter at Jeevan Centre, BSES Business Centres and put on their website to enable consumers to know about options available with them in getting their grievances.

She said the Citizens’ Charter is a useful link between the consumers and service provider, and would go a long way in strengthening the relationship between the two on matters of performance, governance, transparency and consumer satisfaction. (ANI)
