Jaipur, Nov 25(ANI): Congress General Secretary Rahul Gandhi, who is on a two-day tour of Rajasthan with an aim to mobilize the youth of the state to join his party, on Wednesday said that it is not necessary to have political background to be a party member.
Rahul Gandhi spoke about the recent internal reforms undertaken by his party to enroll more youths into the political system of the country.
“There are lots of leaders in Punjab, Tamil Nadu and Gujarat who are into politics without any political family connection whatsoever. I can give you many names. Meenakshi Natarajan, my secretary, has no political connections and is still a Member of Parliament. There are many people like that,” Rahul Gandhi said.
He also commented on the controversial issue, which has surrounded the Union Government over the leakage of the Liberhan Commission report.
“The report has been tabled in the parliament and we’ll look at it,” Rahul Gandhi said. (ANI)
