No Pak visa for Mehbooba Mufti, matter is technical says Islamabad
December 20th, 2009 - 11:05 pm ICT by ANI ( Leave a comment )Srinagar/Islamabad, Dec 20(ANI): Even as Indian media reported Pakistan denying a visa for People’s Democratic Party (PDP) President Mehbooba Mufti for attending an international conference, official sources in Islamabad said that the matter is purely technical and they have not wilfully differentiated between her and separatists.
Pakistan Foreign Office said that the visa for Mufti has been denied on purely technical grounds, and there was no malified intention behind it, a private television channel report said on Sunday evening.
Pakistan has also said that they have nothing against the leader and also denied of any bias against mainstream Jammu and Kashmir leaders.
Meanwhile, Mufti has said that Pakistan denied visa citing security concerns.
Mufti, who has been to Pakistan in the past, was scheduled to attend a three-day conference organised by the Sustainable Development Policy Institute of Islamabad.
She had attended a Pugwash conference in March last year. (ANI)
