No input from Pak on David Coleman Headley: Manmohan Singh

New Delhi, Nov. 6 (ANI): The Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh on Friday said that Pakistan has not provided any input on David Coleman Headley, who was arrested by the FBI for plotting a major attack in India at the behest of terror group Lashkar-e-Taiba.
Earlier in the day, Home Minister P Chidambaram had disclosed that the United States security agencies informed India that Pakistan has links with the terror plot of the Lashkar -e- Tayebba busted recently in the US.
Chidambaram pointed out that the fact that Hedley, against whom the FBI filed affidavit in the court, visited Pakistan several times showed the country’s links with the aborted plot which sought a large-scale terror attacks.
Two or more people have also been arrested in Pakistan in this connection on the advice of FBI.
Dr. Singh said that India is intimately affected by developments in Pakistan and Afghanistan.
Addressing the India EU summit in New Delhi, Dr. Singh said that New Delhi has a stake in maintaining peace and stability there.
Dr. Singh said Pakistan has not provided any input on David Coleman Headley, who was arrested by the FBI for plotting a major attack in India at the behest of terror group Lashkar-e-Taiba.
He also expressed hope that negotiations on broadbased trade and investment agreement with European Union will be concluded in a year.
On the issue of climate change, Dr. Singh said that climate is a complex issue but a broad agreement needs to be arrived at. (ANI)
