Nine killed in UP rail accident
March 9th, 2010 - 9:50 pm ICT by ANILucknow, Mar 9 (ANI): At least nine passengers were killed and around 12 others got injured in a rail accident in an unmanned railway crossing between Uttarpura and Barrajpura Railway Stations under Ijjatnagar Railway Division on Tuesday morning.
The accident took place when a passenger train hit a tractor-trolley. All the victims are reported to be the passengers of the trolley.
The injured persons have been admitted at Barrarjpua Civil Hospital, said a Railway spokesperson adding that the accident has hampered rail traffic on this track.
Senior railway and civil officials have reached the spot to take note of the situation and provide some relief work. (ANI)
