Patiala, May 16 (ANI): Minister of State for External Affairs Parneet Kaur on Sunday said that New Delhi has taken a serous not of harassment of Indian shooters at the International Sport Shooting Federation (ISSF) World Cup in Dorset, United Kingdom.

Interacting with media here Kaur said India would take appropriate action into the incident.

“This is something unfortunate that has happened. Our ministry has noticed it and they have sent a letter to our High Commission. We will take appropriate actions,” Kaur said.

“I cannot say anything right now. Proper investigations would be done and then appropriate action would be taken,” she added

Meanwhile, former Olympian Milkha Singh has criticized the ISSF over the incident.

“If our players who go abroad are insulted like this then that is the insult of India. All players have to come here. We will welcome them with open arms when they will come here for Commonwealth Games. said Milkha Singh.

“Therefore, I feel that this brotherhood should be maintained and the things that are happening should not happen. It is not good for any country,” he added.

Indian team Manager M Padmanabhan has written to the Indian High Commission in London informing them about the alleged harassment of Manavjit Singh Sandhu and others at the hands of transport department officials.

Transport supervisor Mike asked Sandhu to get off the bus when they were moving from the shooting range to the hotel.

Mike shouted at the other shooters as well when they protested.

The Indian High Commission has asked the organisers of the event to look into the matter.

Sandhu and others shooters said that this harassment would affect their concentration and performance. (ANI)
