New British record as referee sends off six players
September 24th, 2008 - 2:36 pm ICT by ANI London, Sept.24 (ANI): Referee Danny Austin has set a British record by sending six footballers off without the game being abandoned.
According to The Mirror, Austin red-carded three players a side in Worthing Vs Chipstead and gave eight yellow cards in the Ryman Division One game.
The flurry of reds began in the 59th minute for a handball followed by fouls.
A player said: “Nobody could believe what they were seeing.”
He stayed in the dressing room for an hour after the 1-1 draw in Worthing, West Sussex. (ANI)
