Kathmandu, August 23 (ANI): Nepal Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal on Saturday called on for national consensus for fulfilling peoples aspiration to establish sustainable peace in the country, and added that bilateral ties with the neighbouring countries will rest on the Panchsheel.
Addressing the nation for the first time after becoming the prime minister, Dahal stressed that stability cannot be ensured with effort of a side.
Expressing his commitment to maintain national unity based on equality in the country, he said that bilateral ties with other countries will devolve on the Panchsheelthe five principles of peaceful coexistence.
Also, asking the security bodies including the national army to forget all incidents that occurred during the armed conflict, Dahal appealed them to assist in building a New Nepal.
This government is fully committed to implement all agreements done with different political parties, organisations and the preceding government, Kantipur quoted Dahal as saying.
During his address, Dahal presented the priorities of the government and said that it will give emphasis to the transformation of socio-economic situation, nationalism and republicanism.
The new government will give the highest priority to the countrys sovereignty, national unity and integration, he added.
The Prime Minister also committed towards rule of law, press freedom, periodic election and democratic values adding that breach of democratic system will be discouraged.
Dahal said sustainable peace can be established only if economic and political revolutions go hand in hand. He assured to establish industrial peace.
Mentioning the people have elected a new leadership and ideology, he repeated that the country is committed towards fulfilling peoples aspirations in the changed context. (ANI)
