New Delhi, Jan 29 (ANI): Bharatiya Janata Party senior leader L.K. Advani on Tuesday said the National Democratic Alliance can come back to the Centre if the BJP continue to be a party with a difference.

We need to instill amongst the masses, the same kind of enthusiasm, confidence determination that we have seen in this national meet, said Advani.

Speaking at the three-day party conclave, Advani accused the Congress-led United Progressive Alliance (UPA) Government of giving undue leverage to the Left Parties.

“The Congress Party knows what the Leftists stand for, the Congress can never forget what the Communists did in 1942 when they supported the British. In 1947, they supported Pakistan and in 1962 they supported China, said Advani.

During its conclave, the BJP has accused the Centre of compromising national security and of not taking necessary steps to strengthen internal security.

BJP President Rajnath Singh had said that the UPA Government has not been successful in solving farmers’ suicides across the country and the number of deaths has increased despite an announcement of relief package by Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh.

Rajnath Singh had also demanded the Centre to call a special session of the Parliament to discuss the issues of farmers and landless labourers.

The party has also demanded an increase in the income tax exemption limit to Rupees 1.5 lakh in the upcoming Union Budget and reduction in interest rate on housing, education and agriculture loans.

The party on Monday announced that it would set aside 33 per cent of the posts in the partys organisational structure for women.

This will be implemented in three-months time from now, but the all-powerful Parliamentary Board is exempted from the quota for women, senior leader Sushma Swaraj has said.

After the implementation of the decision, the 81-member National Executive of the party will have 27 women leaders and the chief of the national women cell of the party will also be a member of the Central Election Committee. The state presidents of the party will be part of their respective state election committees. (ANI)
