Natalie Portman receives Humanity Award for social commitment

Washington, Sept 2 (ANI): Hollywood actress Natalie Portman has been conferred with a humanity award for her social commitment.

The 27-year-old actress was presented with the Movie for Humanity Award at the Venice Film Festival.

The Other Boleyn Girl star also received a 50,000 dollars cheque, which she donated to the Tacare Girl’’s Scholarship Programme of the Jane Goodall Institute, a non-profit organisation involved in education and wildlife research in Tanzania.

The Jane Goodall foundation does incredible work in Tanzania, an area which is very environmentally affected. I really appreciate this award, E! Online quoted Portman, as saying

She also is presenting her directorial debut at the festival, a short film called Eve. (ANI)
