- Nagpur, Sep. 16 (ANI): In a bizarre incident, a Nagpur-based man celebrated his 40th birthday in a crematorium.
Surrounded with close friends and relatives, Pramod Vanker cut his birthday cake at Gangabai Ghat on Wednesday.
“Everyone gave me strength and told me it is a good thing and you are setting a good example for the society. People celebrate birthday in hotels, homes and at religious places like temple. I thought why shouldn’t I celebrate my birthday at a place where one is to face sorrow in future,” said Vanker.
Initially, Vanker’s wife was averse to his wacky idea, but his philosophical reasoning cleared her doubts.
“I was surprised when he told me that he wants to celebrate his birthday in a crematorium. Till now we have celebrated birthdays at hotels. But then I felt that one day everyone has to depart from this world then why not see that heavenly abode where everyone has to come and celebrate the birthday too,” said Usha, wife of Pramod Vanker.
Perhaps, it is for the first time that someone in Nagpur has celebrated his birthday at a crematorium. (ANI)
