Islamabad, Mar 16 (ANI): A key advisor and operator in the Presidency, is almost certain that President Pervez Musharraf will quit his office.

“The President that I know of should be thinking of leaving his office,” said the key man who, too, is on his way out after serving the top man with extreme intelligence and loyalty for several years.

In view of the February 18 election results and the threats posed by the winning political leaders, Asif Ali Zardari and Nawaz Sharif, to Musharraf, who has been the absolute ruler of the country for over eight years, this key member of the presidential camp believes that Musharraf should be thinking of leaving his office.

When asked whether the Pakistan Army would come to the rescue of the retired general if the new parliament and the new government restored the deposed judges or clipped President’s power, he said to his understanding, the military would remain indifferent and stay out of politics.

The presidential camp member, however, gave his frank opinion saying: “You hold venom against Musharraf.”

The assessment of this close aide of President Musharraf is contrary to the Presidency’s repeated statements that Musharraf has no plans to quit and that he would continue in the office for five years. (ANI)
