Mumbai terror strikes will leave 9/11-like effects in IndiaNovember 28th, 2008 - 1:51 pm ICT by ANI
Sydney, Nov 28 (ANI): Cricket Australia chief James Sutherland has reportedly said that while it was too early to comment on what affect the Mumbai terror strikes would lay behind on cricket.
But, he added that these attacks would ensure that safety and security would become of paramount importance in India, like it happened in the US after 9/11.
He, however, said that cricket would go on as usual.
Cricket will go on. It doesn”t mean that we will cut any corners in making decisions. Everything is going to be more rigorous. That’’s what we saw in the world following 9-11 and that’’s what is going to come as a consequence of this. Even putting aside cricket issues, security issues in India and for the Indian government and the Indian armed forces, the police, (are) going to take on a completely different sphere, the Herald Sun quoted Sutherland as saying.
So far, around 125 people are feared dead in Mumbai terror strikes that have continued for almost three days now. (ANI)
