Mulayam appoints Akhilesh Yadav as Uttar Pradesh party president
June 3rd, 2009 - 3:37 pm ICT by ANI ( Leave a comment )Lucknow, June 3 (ANI): Samajwadi Party president Mulayam Singh Yadav on Wednesday appointed his son Akhilesh Yadav as the president of the party’s Uttar Pradesh unit.
Party general secretary Ram Gopal Yadav said Kannauj MP Akhilesh replaces Mulayam’s brother Shivpal Singh Yadav.
Thirty six-year-old Akhilesh entered Parliament in 2000. He is the only member of the 15th Lok Sabha, who has been elected from two constituencies (Kannauj and Firozabad). (ANI)
