She passed away late on Saturday night as her condition deteriorated.

She was hospitalised after two unidentified men tried to burn her alive at her Greater Kailash-II residence, but police have not been able to identify her assailants till date.

On August 12, the assailants came to her house on a motorbike and rang the doorbell. When Mona came out to open the door, they poured kerosene on her and threw a lighted matchstick leaving her burning.

Mona, 35, had alleged that Rachna, a colleague of her husband, Naveen might be behind the attack. Mona had alleged that Rachna was having an affair with her husband and had also tried to kill her earlier.

Based on the statement, police registered a case against Rachna.

Mona Suri’s brother Taranjeet Bawa, dissatisfied with the investigation by Delhi police into the case has demanded a Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) probe.

Police had earlier questioned Rachna, but found no incriminating evidence linking her to the heinous incident. (ANI)
