Modi has brought visible development, feel most Ahmedabad residentsDecember 12th, 2007 - 10:23 pm ICT by admin
Ahmedabad, Dec 12 (ANI): Ahead of the second phase of Assembly elections in the State, most of the people in Ahmedabad credit Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi for ‘bringing’ visible development in the State, and say that BJP’s claim of ‘Vibrant Gujarat’ does not ring hollow.
“Being a citizen, I feel that Modi government has worked towards visible development and for non-political person like me seeing is believing,” said 25-year-old lady Sajna, adding, “If central government claims their credit for development in Gujarat then it’s their duty to provide funds and work for growth for their states. Only initiating things never works, implementation is required and that is what Narendra Modi has done.”
Like her a professional photographer Anuradha Gopi feels that Modi’s governance has brought a ‘dignified change’ in the State.
Aditya Jain, a professional, echoes Gopi’s opinion and said, “It’s for sure that Narendra Modi has worked for development in Gujarat without anybody’s support. Gujarat is not like other state. Centre has no right of taking credit for development in Gujarat.”
However, a section of the people feel what Prime Minister Manmohan Singh told the people of Gujarat that Modi has failed to bring an ‘inclusive’ development of the society.
“Modi government is biased and has worked only for a particular section for society,” said Iqbal Siddique, a commerce graduate, adding, “This government just not remembers us; we don’t exist for them when they talk of development.”
There are others who believe that Congress failed to project some of the developmental programmes launched by the UPA government at the Centre that have benefited the State most.
“There are lots of good schemes initiated by UPA government like Mid-Day meal scheme for children, Sarva Shikha Abhiyaan, Jawahar lal Nehru Gramin Vikas Yojna and above all RTI (Right to Information Act). These initiatives have actually worked towards development and growth. If Modi claims for it then it is wrong,” said Sunny Fernandez, a businessmen by profession. (ANI)
