Modi calls Manmohan Singh “weak”, yet againMay 3rd, 2009 - 10:18 pm ICT by ANI
New Delhi, May. 3 (ANI): BJP leader Narendra Modi on Sunday reiterated that Prime Minister Manmohan Singh is a weak leader, and the office he is holding has been lowered.
“When we say that Prime Minister is weak, we are not discussing his physical fitness. We mean that the dignity of the post he is holding has been lowered. The office where he sits, the PM’s office is supposed to be the most powerful, strong office, but the strength of the office is not visible,” Modi said.
Modi further blamed Singh for not taking action against the atrocities committed on Sikh community in Pakistan.
“Atrocities are being committed on Sikhs in Pakistan. They are being asked to pay jazia (tax), they are being asked to pay 50 million rupees. They are forced out of their houses and are living a terrible life there. I want to ask our prime minister that what he has done about it till now?” Modi said.
According to reports, many Sikh families have started migrating to different parts of Hangu and Kohat out of fear of the Taliban action.
Meanwhile, Narendra Singh Dhoni, elder brother of India’s cricket captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni, who recently joined the BJP, is now busy providing relief to the people whose life has become miserable due to rising temperature and water shortage.
“When I spoke to people about hand pipe they told me that water comes for only 3-5 minutes. Most of the time water is not there. So I thought to repair it. There are some young boys with me and we are doing all this at our own expense,” said Dhoni.
The third phase of India’s multi-staged general elections was held on Thursday, covering 107 seats. (ANI)
