Moderate quake jolts Jammu and Kashmir
March 23rd, 2011 - 2:41 pm ICT by IANSSrinagar, March 23 (IANS) A moderate intensity earthquake measuring 5.2 on the Richter scale jolted Jammu and Kashmir Wednesday morning.
“The tremor jolted Jammu and Kashmir at 11.26 a.m. Its epicentre was the India-China border and its coordinates were latitude 36.3 degrees North and longitude 76.6 degrees East,” Sonam Lotus, director of the local weather office, told IANS.
“So far, no loss of life or property has been reported from anywhere,” he added.
A quake measuring 5.7 on the Richter scale had occurred in Jammu and Kashmir Monday.
