Kochi, Mar 7(ANI): Contestants for Miss Queen of India 2011 pageant have gathered in Kochi, Kerala to participate in a grooming session.

Sixteen participants from four regions of India were selected to participate in the finals of the pageant that would be held in Bangalore on 9 March.

The grooming session would consist of yoga, meditation, personality development, catwalk, beauty tips, photo shoot, and talent search to train and enhance the strengths of the contestants.

The organisers have not included the bikini round in the contest.

Valentina Misra, one of the stylists grooming the candidates said: “In most of the pageants, girls are forced to wear such outfits without the consent and comfort level of their parents. I feel that this contest is good for both the parents and the contestants, as they will be happy to see the girls decently dressed.

Ajith Ravi, the organiser of the event, said the girls could participate in the contest with the consent of their parents and without compromising their comfort.

“I need a pageant which everyone can participate; every Indian can say that I can simply participate in this pageant,” he said.

The winner would get a gold plated crown along with a sum of 200,000 rupees while the second and third runners up would get 50,000 rupees and 35,000 rupees respectively. (ANI)
