- Peshawar, May 8 (ANI): In a second incident of its type in less than a week, a group of unidentified militants set fire to the Sherpalam Primary Girls School in Swats Matta tehsil last night.
The school, consisting of four classrooms and a veranda, was completely razed, said a local police official.
This was the second girls school in the troubled Swat district reduced to ashes by masked militants in four days. Earlier, on Sunday militants had set fire to the Charbagh Girls High School three days ago, reported the Daily Times.
Militants in the tribal Swat region are against girls education, and demand closure of all girls schools here. (ANI)
