Militants kill two villagers in Jammu and Kashmir
August 19th, 2010 - 11:56 am ICT by IANSJammu, Aug 19 (IANS) Militants have killed two villagers in a mountainous area of Jammu and Kashmir’s Reasi district, police said Thursday.
Javed Ahmad and Nanak Chand of Sukha-Chasana area of Reasi district were shot dead by militants in Kousar Nag area, about 150 km from Jammu. Their bodies have been recovered.
Police said this is part of the renewed campaign of the militants to inject fear among the people, particularly in remote areas.
“We are trying to find out more details,” a police officer told IANS.
Reasi district’s upper reaches have a sizeable presence of militants belonging to Hizbul Mujahideen and Lashkar-e-Taiba, he added.
