Rajouri (Jammu and Kashmir), Nov 8(ANI): A Border Security Force (BSF) constable and his wife were shot dead by unidentified militants in Jammu and Kashmir’s Rajouri district on Sunday.

Shabir Choudhary, Superintendent of Police of Rajouri, said that two masked militants barged into the house of BSF constable Mohammad Arif in Khandi village and opened fire at him, his wife Malika Khatoon and their 9-year-old son Abrar Ahmed.

Arif and his wife were during the firing, while son was injured, who has been admitted to the district hospital at Rajouri.

“A constable named Mohammed Arif had come home on leave. He and his wife were killed in a firing. The investigation is on to find out which group of militants is involved in this. The search operation is being carried out to nab them,” said Shabir Choudhary.

Arif earlier belonged to militant outfit Hizbul Mujahideen, who had surrendered before the authorities in 1999, and was later recruited by the BSF.

He was currently posted with a BSF battalion in Punjab. (ANI)
