Militant hideout busted in Poonch
February 28th, 2010 - 11:55 am ICT by ANIPoonch, Feb 28 (ANI): Security forces have busted a rebel hideout in Jammu and Kashmir’s Poonch district and recovered arms and ammunition.
Acting on a tip off, Special Operation Group (SOG) and Rashtriya Rifles troops targeted the hideout while combing the Ghanta forest area along the Line of Control.
“Around two o’clock we reached the militant hideout and recovered a huge cache of arms and ammunition. The recovered material seems a little old,” said Javaid Iqbal, Deputy Superintendent of Police (Operations), Poonch Range.
An AK-56 rifle, three magazines, 28 AK rounds, 21 Pika rounds, five RPG shelves and one wireless set were recovered from the site. (ANI)
