Michael Hutchences sister secretly sells memorabilia on eBayMay 19th, 2008 - 4:36 pm ICT by admin
Melbourne , May 19 (ANI): Late INXS frontman Michael Hutchences sister has attempted to exploit the stars death for profit, by selling some of his personal items of memorabilia on eBay.
Tina Hutchence has been exposed of misusing a username lilytigerlily, referring to the Australian rocker’s daughter, while trying to sell the handwritten lyrics to the INXS track Wild Life featured on the band’s highest-selling 1987 album, Kick.
“Written on an 8-inch by 12-inch page in Michael Hutchence’ scratchy handwriting, torn out of a notebook. It was among some papers Michael left in storage in Hong Kong and turned over to his family in 1999. The paper is slightly discoloured but in good condition,” the item description reads.
Initially, the item was placed on eBay with the starting bid of 300 US dollars, but later the lady residing in Nevada closed the sale when she feared exposure after she faced several online questions about the authenticity of the lyrics, reports the Daily Telegraph.
However, she invited trouble when she stupidly disclosed her identity in an attempt to trade off another Michael Hutchences memoirs Bob Geldof’s 1986 autobiography Is That It.
The lady again used the same lilytigerlily username, and wrote in the item description that she bought the book after meeting Geldof “while I was researching my book Just a Man on my brother Michael Hutchence”.
However, it was found that the book was listed on eBay as having sold for as low as 99c.
Its been 10 years since the rocker committed suicide in a Sydney hotel room. (ANI)
