MIC to continue aid to Tamil schools, templesJune 4th, 2008 - 1:43 pm ICT by ANI
Kuala Lumpur, June 4 (ANI): The Malaysian Indian Congress would continue to extend aid to Tamil schools, temples and other organisations, said Deputy Territories Minister M. Saravanan.
Speaking at the Ledang MIC delegates meeting, he said MIC is the only party that highlights the problems of the Indian community to the Malaysian Government.
Tamil Nesan quoted him as saying that the setting up of Tafe College and MIED by MIC president S. Samy Vellu had benefited many Indian youngsters in gaining knowledge and enjoying a better lifestyle.
Sarvanan said the standard of education in Tamil schools had improved tremendously and the seminars and motivation courses given to schoolchildren had helped them to achieve outstanding results in their examinations.
He urged branch leaders to work selflessly for the community and not to expect rewards, the Star Online reported. (ANI)
