Mayawati declares her birthday for the poor

Lucknow, Jan 15 (ANI): Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Mayawati, who turned 54 on Friday, has decided that instead of accepting gifts, she would present gifts to the poor on her birthday.
The Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) Supremo has declared her birthday to be celebrated as Jan Kalyan Diwas, and special camps have been organised in all the district headquarters for the purpose.
It is reported that a symblic cake will be cut in all the 403 assembly constituencies, where her party workers are expected to inform the people about the achievements of the government.
Mayawati’s last birthday had come under strong criticism, as she was lavished with expensiven gifts, golds, diamonds and cash by her suuporters. (ANI)
