Mayawati a more deserving PM candidate than Advani, Manmohan: BardhanMarch 20th, 2009 - 8:05 pm ICT by ANI
New Delhi, Mar 20 (ANI): Communist Party of India (CPI) General Secretary A. B. Bardhan has said that Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) Chief Mayawati is a more deserving candidate for the Prime Ministers post than either L. K. Advani or Manmohan Singh.
Mayawati is more deserving of the Prime Ministers chair than L. K. Advani or Manmohan Singh, Bardhan has told NDTV in an exclusive interview to be aired on Sunday.
The veteran Left leader also indicated the possibility of political realignment with the Congress allies.
The Left parties are in touch with several Congress allies, especially the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) chief Sharad Pawar and Lok Janshakti Party (LJP) president Ram Vilas Paswan. With Paswan, I am so regularly in touch, that just yesterday; he sent me four kinds of fish. Paswan is a good friend, he added.
When asked if the Left parties would consider supporting a Congress-led government to keep the National Democratic Alliance out, Bardhan said the need for that would not arise.
The need for this will not arise. Currently the Third Front is at number one position, with the Congress at number two, and the BJP far behind, he said. (ANI)
