Washington, Jun 29 (ANI): American actor Matthew McConaughey, who had recently lost his flip-flops during a surfing trip to Nicaragua, was in for more bad luck as thieves stole his cell phone and 2,000 dollars in cash.

McConaughey had reportedly had to be carried home drunk from a bar in San Juan Del Sur.

The actor is said to have stood on tables and asked patrons to help him find his missing flip-flops - and then allegedly passing out.

His pals from the bar had taken him back to his hotel room and put him to bed but they unfortunately left his door wide open when they left, giving opportunists the chance to strike, a source revealed.

“Matt was so out of it when they reached the resort that the two guys had to carry him to his villa. They used his key, took him inside and put him to bed, then left - but they left the door unlocked, Contactmusic quoted an insider as telling America’s Star magazine.

“Matt didn’t report the robbery to the local authorities. I guess he just considered it a lesson learned,” the insider added. (ANI)
