Maoists kill ITBP personnel in Chhattisgarh
January 29th, 2011 - 5:44 pm ICT by ANIRajnandgaon (Chhattisgarh), Jan 29 (ANI): Maoists have killed an Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) personnel in Chhattisgarh’s Rajnandgaon District.
Raipur Superintendent of Police (SP) Vikas Thakur said Roop Singh was shot in the neck and later succumbed to his injuries.
“This incident took place in Auri area of Rajnandgaon. The Maoists attacked a team of Indo-Tibetan Border Police on patrol. In the process, a soldier was injured. He was shot in the neck and his name was Roop Singh, who belonged to Rajasthan. He succumbed to his injuries,” said Thakur.
Roop Singh died on way to Raipur District Hospital. (ANI)
