Maoists attack police station in Giridih, torch trucks
August 26th, 2010 - 1:55 pm ICT by ANIGiridih (Jharkhand), Aug.26 (ANI): A police station was blown up and trucks were set on fire by Maoists here on Thursday,
According to reports, the rebels also opened fire indiscriminately on a police station in the area.
Tey were protesting against the arrest of two of their associates — Muktar Ansari and Dasrath Manjhi — in Giridih yesterday.
The Pirtand Police station was attacked at around 1 a.m., and the rebels were also shot at.
A senior police officer said there were no casualties. (ANI)
